The B postcode is bigger than the city
Ask Royal Mail for “Birmingham” and you are really booking the B postcode area, which runs well past the city boundary. It takes in Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Tamworth, Redditch, Bromsgrove and Halesowen. That is useful when your customers drive in from the suburbs, and wasted money when they don’t.
These are the largest B districts on Royal Mail’s October 2026 count. Most of our Birmingham plans start by trimming this list rather than adding to it.
| District | Area | Homes on Royal Mail’s count |
|---|---|---|
| B31 | Northfield, Longbridge | 26,025 |
| B77 | Tamworth | 24,504 |
| B90 | Shirley | 22,467 |
| B98 | Redditch | 22,311 |
| B23 | Erdington | 20,442 |
| B14 | Kings Heath, Yardley Wood | 17,782 |
| B29 | Selly Oak, Weoley Castle | 17,650 |
| B32 | Quinton, Bartley Green | 17,174 |

Royal Mail, our teams, or both
- Royal Mail Door to DoorYour leaflet goes out with the daily post to every home in the sectors you pick, flats included. Book around three weeks ahead. How Royal Mail works
- Our GPS tracked teamsOur own teams deliver in Birmingham and all major towns and cities, with a GPS trail of every round. Good for a tight area around a shop or a fast start. How our teams work
Plenty of Birmingham clients only ever use Royal Mail. Others only use our teams. Some campaigns use both. We will tell you which fits your brief and why.
Recent work around the West Midlands
Our West Midlands campaigns range from a local bus operator promoting its services to national retailers working around individual stores. The approach is the same each time: find the sectors that look most like your existing customers, leave out the ones that don’t, and agree how we will measure the result before anything is printed.
For a bigger example of how we measure, see how we planned 649,607 homes around more than 80 Tapi stores with control groups built in.
What a Birmingham door drop costs
Shared door drops start at £88.25 per 1,000 for 10,000 leaflets under 20g and come down to £61.04 per 1,000 at large volumes, plus VAT and print. The same rate card applies to Royal Mail and our teams. If you want your leaflet delivered on its own, solus delivery starts at £179 per 1,000.
To put that in context, covering the whole B postcode would mean around 839,000 leaflets, but very few campaigns need all of it. See the full price guide.
Birmingham door drop questions
Does a Birmingham door drop include Solihull and Sutton Coldfield?
Only if you choose those sectors. Both sit inside the B postcode area, as do Tamworth (B77 to B79) and Redditch (B97 and B98), so we can include them or leave them out sector by sector.
Which part of Birmingham has the most homes?
On Royal Mail’s October 2026 counts, B31 (Northfield and Longbridge) is the biggest district with 26,025 homes, followed by B77 in Tamworth and B90 in Shirley.
Can I leaflet just one district, like B29?
Yes. You can book a single district or even a single sector. B29, which covers Selly Oak and Weoley Castle, has 17,650 homes on Royal Mail’s count across four sectors.
How far ahead should I book?
For Royal Mail Door to Door, around three weeks before the delivery week. Our teams can usually start within days of your leaflets arriving with us.
Will I get proof of delivery?
Team rounds are GPS tracked and you receive the maps. Royal Mail campaigns come with a delivery schedule showing the week each sector is delivered.
