A city of suburbs, and a region around it
Only around one in five Sheffield households lives in a flat. Most live in semi detached and terraced houses spread across the hills from Hillsborough and Crookes in the west to Manor and Darnall in the east, which makes the city well suited to door drops: lots of letterboxes, close together, with clear neighbourhood boundaries.
The bigger opportunity is often beyond the city boundary. More than half the homes in the S postcode are in Rotherham, Barnsley, Chesterfield, Worksop and the towns between them. A retailer or service with branches across South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire can reach all of them in one campaign, choosing sectors by household profile rather than drawing a circle on a map.
Sheffield’s two universities also matter. Student areas such as Crookes, Broomhill and the city centre behave very differently from family suburbs, so we time and target them separately, around the start of term.

Sheffield leaflet distribution questions
Can one campaign cover Sheffield, Rotherham and Barnsley?
Yes. They all sit in the S postcode, so we can plan one campaign across the area and pick sectors in each town by household type, rather than running separate local drops.
How many homes are there in the S postcode?
Royal Mail’s October 2026 count shows 660,062 residential addresses across 196 postcode sectors, of which around 291,000 are in Sheffield itself.
Which parts of Sheffield suit family offers?
Suburbs such as Dore, Totley, Stannington, Hillsborough and Woodseats are mainly owner occupied family homes. We use Census and Mosaic data to rank sectors for your offer before choosing.
Should I target student areas in Sheffield?
Only if your offer suits students. Areas like Broomhill, Crookes and the city centre change every September, so we usually schedule student drops for the first weeks of term.
Do your teams deliver on Sheffield’s steep streets?
Yes. Our GPS tracked teams cover Sheffield, and every round is mapped so you can see exactly which streets were covered.
Can you deliver around a new store opening in Sheffield?
Yes. We map the catchment around the new site, pick sectors by household type and time the drop for the week before opening, so the leaflet arrives while it is still news.
